CALLING FOR BIDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Grossmont Union High School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT, will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. of the 5th day of August , 2003, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Bid # 2948, Improvements to Track, Grossmont High School?.
Bids shall be received in the office of the Director of Maintenance, GROSSMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are on file and may be obtained after July 6, 2003, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. only at the office of the Director of Maintenance, 9600 Milden Street, La Mesa, CA.
A mandatory job walk will be held on Friday, July 18, 2003, at 8:00 a.m. for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. It is imperative that all bidders attend this job walk. Failure to attend may disqualify the non-attending bidder from the bid.
In order to be eligible for the mandatory job walk, plans and specifications must be picked up no later than Thursday, July 17, 2003, 3:30 p.m.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $10,000, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The lowest bid shall be the lowest total of the bid prices on the base contract and those additive or deductive items taken in the order set forth in the bid form.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at Grossmont Union High School District, Director of Maintenance, 9600 Milden Street, La Mesa, CA.
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: A, General Engineering.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty?( 60 ) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

RFQ for General Contractor
Multi-Family Housing Project in
San Elijo Hills Community
BRIDGE Housing Corporation ("BRIDGE") is seeking statements of interest and qualifications for general contractors from companies with backgrounds and experience in multi-family, wood framed construction. BRIDGE is developing a multi-family housing project to be located in the master planned community of San Elijo Hills in San Marcos. It will consist of 204 units with a mixture of one, two and three bedroom units. The proposed thirteen buildings are all three stories in height with construction type being V-1 hour. Construction is scheduled to commence 4th Quarter 2003.
Prior Experience and References
? Minimum eight (8) years of professional experience in multi-family attached housing projects of 75 units or more in size.
? Experience with projects that have requirements for Section 3 subcontractors and Women-Owned Business Enterprises / Minority-Owned Business Enterprises.
? Experience with projects partially funded by the California Housing Finance Agency ("CHFA") with an understanding of their construction standards and requirements.
? Name of company and number of years in business
? Legal status and company ID number
? Contact name, including email address
? Names and resumes of key staff and brief description of their roles/responsibilities in the project
? Provide "pipeline" schedule of projects currently under or to be constructed over the next 18 months. Information to include project location, number of units and client.

A bidder an all subcontractors shall be required at the time of submission of the bid to be licensed as a contractor by the State of California to do the type of work required under the contract documents.
Bidders will be required to comply with the provisions of the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (Public Law 100.690) in the performance of the contract. Disabled Veterans and Minorities Business Enterprise Companies' participation in the bidding process is encouraged for this contract. Bidders are required to assure that every effort is made to provide equal opportunity to every potential minority and woman business vendor or subcontractor. Failure to take such steps prior to bid opening shall cause the bid to be rejected as non-responsive.
A Contract Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price shall be required of the successful bidder.

No bidder may withdraw the bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the bid opening date.
