On Tuesday, July 6, 2010 the Board of Port Commissioners of the San Diego Unified Port District will hold a public hearing on the following matter:

This agenda item recommends that the Board conduct a Public Hearing and adopt the following amendments to Port Tariff No. 1-G Rates and Charges, effective August 15, 2010: Establish a pilotage rate for mega yachts on San Diego Bay
A pilotage charge of $1,000.00 per 12-month period will be assessed to mega yachts for entering, leaving or intra harbor movements. A mega yacht is defined as a pleasure craft of over 300 gross tons that is not carrying freight for hire and that has received a Pilotage Exemption with a qualified Master on board during any movement.
A new rate schedule replaces the current schedule with the addition of new rate.Public Hearing
The July 6, 2010 Board Meeting will be held at the Port of San Diego Administration Building, 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California 92101, starting at 1:00 p.m.

Copies of the proposed amendment to Tariff No. 1-G are available for review at the Port of San Diego Administration Building, 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California 92101, Clerk's Office, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Submittal of Comments
Maritime Division staff is available to meet with tenants and customers at their convenience and in advance of the public hearing if they wish to discuss the proposed tariff amendments. Persons not able to attend the Public Hearing or wishing to submit written comments for review by the Board are requested to submit them to the Industry & Trade Relations Department by June 30, 2010. Written comments maybe submitted by letter, fax or by e-mail and will become part of the formal correspondence file. The Industry & Trade Relations Staff will give all written comments to the Board.
Persons wishing to comment on this matter may also appear at the Public Hearing and/or may present comments in writing to the Board before the hearing date. All persons wishing to testify must complete a speaker's slip (available at the Public Hearing) and submit it to the District Clerk.
