SCOPE OF WORK:
This Scope of Work is design services to rehabilitate portions of the Second Aqueduct. The project shall take into consideration steel liner design, identification of suitable work areas within limits established by the Water Authority and valve vault design.
The valve vaults will be designed to accommodate reducers, valves and depending on size, may require structural services from an outside contractor.
The design shall not establish means and methods of construction. Services to include providing plan set and specification per the design contractor guide Volumes I & II. The Project:Pipelines 3 and 4 Relining Miramar Hill to Scripps Ranch:
This project will include the design of (1) the rehabilitation of approximately 17,300 feet of existing Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP) along the existing Pipeline 3 (8350 feet) and Pipeline 4 (8950 feet) from Miramar Hill to Miramar Water Treatment Plant (2) restoration of Operation and Maintenance facilities, (3) installation of valves, (4) the construction of a valve vault and (5) construction support services for duration of construction. The estimated value of this work is $300,000 and items 1, 2 ,3, 4 must be completed by March 31, 2009.
The project is located between Miramar Hill (which is south of Mercy Rd.) and the turnout to the Miramar Water Treatment Plant (on Scripps Lake Drive).

The Water Authoritys Small Contractor Outreach and Opportunities Program is designed to maximize participation of diverse, qualified, small contractors and material suppliers seeking to do business with the Water Authority. Effective implementation of SCOOP is a requirement of the project and award of a contract will be determined, in part, by the Contractors demonstrated effort in conducting effective outreach to small contractors. Failure to comply with the requirements herein shall render the Respondent as non-responsive.
