Notice is hereby given that the Procurement Services Department, First Floor, of the San Diego Unified Port District will receive sealed bids at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, until 2:00 P.M. on the 9th day of August 2010 for:

BROADWAY PIER CRUISE SHIP
FACILITY SIGNAGE PACKAGE
1000 NORTH HARBOR DRIVE
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
Work includes furnishing all signage, labor, materials and equipment necessary to provide and install all types signage on the new Broadway Pier Cruise Ship Facility located at 1000 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, California 92101, and other related incidental items of work as shown on the drawings and as specified in the specifications.
The Engineer's Construction estimate for this project is $200,000.00.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, Classification C61 (D42, Sign Installation) at the time the contract is submitted.
Bids will be opened in public at or about that hour at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, all as more particularly contained in Document No. 56652 on file in the office of the Clerk of the District. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the date set for bid opening.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on July 21, 2010, in Administration Training Room at the District Administration Building.
Plans and specifications are available for download on Port of San Diego website, www.portofsandiego.org. Plans and specifications may also be purchased for $40.00 per each set on or about July 7, 2010, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding District holidays, from Corporate Services Print Shop, San Diego Unified Port District, P.O. Box 120488, San Diego, CA 92112-0488, or picked up in person at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, Telephone Number (619) 686-6320. Shipment of plans and specifications by Federal Express is available at Bidder's expense (please provide a completed airbill with your request). The purchase price and cost of shipment are not refundable. One set of plans and specifications will be made available by the District to local plan file services.
In accordance with the provisions of the California State Labor Code, the District has obtained the general prevailing rate of wages (which rate includes employer payments for health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes) applicable to the work to be done, for straight time, overtime, Saturday, Sunday and holiday work. All labor employed on this project shall be paid no less than such minimum rates of wages. These wage rates are available for inspection at the office of the Procurement Services Department of the San Diego Unified Port District.
It is the policy of the San Diego Unified Port District that certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of District Contracts.
Certified SBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for proposals/bids/quotes, etc.
Bidder shall file the bonds as required by the Contract and Civil Code section 3247. The provisions of Public Contract Code section 22300 apply to this Contract.
In the public interest, the District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid.
