NOTICE TO
CONTRACTORS CALLING FOR BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the National School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. of the 31st day of August, 2005, sealed bids for the award of a contract for:
FENCING AT NATIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, Bid No. 05-06.2FN.

Bids shall be received in the Office of the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services of the National School District located at 1500 N Avenue, National City, CA and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after August 15, 2005 at the Business Services Department of the National School District located at 1500 N Avenue, National City, CA. Bidders may request a bid packet to be mailed by calling (619) 336-7710 and will be billed for the cost of shipping to cover.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The lowest bid shall be the lowest total of the bid prices on the base contract as set forth in the bid form.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: C13 Ð Fencing Contractor
A prebid conference and site walk will be held at 9:30 a.m, on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, in the Ed. Services Conference Room, 1500 N Avenue, National City, for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site.
*A payment bond must be filed for a contract involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000 (Civil Code section 3247(a)) and may be required for contracts involving smaller expenditures at the option of the District.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

The Otay Water District, hereinafter referred to as "District", hereby gives notice that sealed bids for the replacement and/or retrofitting of 3/4 and 1-inch water meters to remote read will be received and publicly opened at the DistrictÕs Purchasing Office, located at 2554 Sweetwater Springs Blvd., Spring Valley, CA 91978 at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2005.
Prospective bidders are required to obtain a bid package from the DistrictÕs Purchasing Office. By telephone, please call (619) 670-2278. By letter, please address to: Otay Water District, Purchasing Department, 2554 Sweetwater Springs Blvd., Spring Valley, CA 91978.
Bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid conference to be held in the DistrictÕs Administrative Offices located at 2554 Sweetwater Springs Blvd., Spring Valley, CA 91978, at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 24, 2005. For information, please call the project manager at (619) 670-2263.
All bids must be complete and submitted on the bid forms provided by the District in the bid package. Submitted bids must be sealed in an envelope and clearly identified on the outside with the following: "IFB- WATER METER REPLACEMENT - 2005, Bid Opening: 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2005".
Telephone, telegraphic, faxed, electronic, or late bids will not be considered regardless of postmark or reason. Late bids will be returned to the bidder unopened.
Bidders are encouraged to utilize emerging business enterprise (EBE) firms in the execution of the work identified herein. Bidders are encouraged to call the Contracting Opportunities Center at (619) 285-7020 for information on EBE firms.
The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality, and to make any award in the best interest of the District.
