Southwestern College Higher Education Facility and the South County Regional Education Center, Education Village ? Each bid shall be accompanied by the bid security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the Owner in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at Southwestern Community College. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.

THE METROPOLITAN TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT BOARD (MTDB), 1255 Imperial Avenue, Suite 1000, San Diego, CA 92101-7490, is soliciting Requests for Prequalification (RFPQ) from firms, joint ventures, partnerships, sole proprietorships, or corporations interested in providing construction services for the Fiber Optic Cable Furnishing, Installing, Terminating, andTesting Project (FOP), for the MTDB Light Rail Transit (LRT) system throughout San Diego County. The FOP contractor will install aerial and underground fiber optic cable, communication enclosures, termination cabinets, conduit, network switches, servers, connectors, and miscellaneous equipment throughout the MTDB system; and test installed equipment, including underground, at grade, overhead, through tunnels, and on bridges.
Contractors or subcontractors must be prequalified to bid in accordance with California Public Contract Code Section 20101.
In order to become prequalified, the contractor must demonstrate at least five previous years of technical competence, experience, and knowledge in successfully furnishing, installing, connecting, and testing of a fiber optic system(s) project of similar scope, magnitude, schedule duration and setting. Using responses generated by the RFPQ, MTDB will establish a list of prequalified bidders (contractors) by October 3, 2003, who will be eligible to bid on the upcoming FOP Project (LRT-10498). This list will be published in the LRT-10498 Special Provisions. Only bids from prequalified contractors and/or subcontractors will be considered responsive. We expect final bid documents to be available to prequalified bidders in late October 2003.
The engineer's estimate for this work is approximately $6,570,000 in total, to be done in three phases. A preproposal meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 25, 2003, at 2:30 p.m., at MTDB. Questions relating to the project should be addressed to the project manager, Michael Bertram, at 619-238-0100, ext. 450. RFPQ packages will be due at the above address, attention Michael Bertram, by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2003. RFPQ packages arriving later than 4:00 p.m. or at a different location will not be considered.

Purpose: SDSU is circulating a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to identify the necessary and desirable qualifications of design-build teams who wish to be considered for participation in a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design and construction of the BioScience Center Project. The proposed project will consists of constructing a 33,300 gross sq. ft. , five-story, Type II, 1 hour, fully sprinklered biological science laboratory research building containing BL-2 and Bl-3 Labs and including support offices, a seminar room and vivarium space, located at San Diego State University.
Contractor License: B-1 (General Building) or other appropriate license as determined by the CA Contractors State License Board Rules and Regulations.
Prequalification Procedure: The University will limit the final design-build project competitors to those prequalified by financial ability, experience and organizational resources. Interested proposers must submit information requested in the RFQ documents and prequalify with the Trustees by filing a statement of financial condition and previous experience in performing projects of a similar nature. Notice Inviting Construction Bids

The Community Development Commission of the City of National City (CDC) invites sealed bids for performing the Morgan/Kimball Towers-Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project, Specification No. 2003-900007
This project includes the repaving of the Morgan/Kimball Towers Parking Lot, including removal and replacement of sidewalks, paving and restriping of parking lot, building of Gazebo Park and all other related improvements noted in the Bid Document. The described project is located at 1317 D Avenue, National City, California 91950.
All sealed bid proposals must be received by the Community Development Commission located in the Martin Luther King Community Center, 140 12th Street, Suite B, National City California, 91950 prior to the bid closing time of 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2003. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the CDC large conference room. A Walk-thru will take place Wednesday August 20th at 10:00 a.m. on site at Morgan and Kimball Towers located at 1317 D Ave in National City.
The project documents include the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 2000 Green book, including San Diego Supplements, the San Diego Regional Standard Drawings, 1997 Edition and these plans. The contract documents may be purchased at the CDC offices upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $25 for each set. (Includes project plans and these contract documents, but does not include the Green book or San Diego Regional Standard Drawings.) Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price.
In accordance with the California Labor Code, the contractor and all subcontractors must not pay less then prevailing wage rates as determined by the Director of Industrial Relations, and the Federal Davis Bacon Wage Rates, for all work done under this contract. A copy of the current prevailing wage rate determination is available for inspection in the office of the City Engineer. The Contractor is obligated to pay the higher of the two State and federal wages rates, if there is a difference. The CDC hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award.

The work required: Furnishing of any and all required labor, transportation, services, and material, for the hauling, distributing, excavating, laying, backfilling, and restoring all pavement and surface restoration where necessary following the construction of water pipeline installations by Sweetwater Authority construction crews. There are a total of 12 separate street sites and 5 pump and tank sites with an estimated 1,055 tons of AC pavement; 27,538 square feet of sand seal; 1,132 tons of removal of existing base and temporary pavement; grinding of 5,310 lineal feet of trench; and various quantities of concrete cross gutter and traffic loop replacements. Plans and specifications for Trench Pavement for 2003-2004 Metallic Main Replacement Program, Pavement Maintenance, and As-Needed Pavement Repairs are available at no cost at the office of the Sweetwater Authority, 505 Garrett Avenue, Chula Vista, CA.
