The County of San Diego, Owner, invites bids for Construction of Dolores Street Sidewalks; PROJECT 1011343 (RFB 4692). This is a Community Development Block Grant Project, a Federal Assistance Grant of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). Bidder claiming Section 3 Certification may be eligible for Section 3 Preference.
Sealed bids will be received at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting, at 10089 Willow Creek Rd, Ste. 150, San Diego, 92131, until 2:00 PM on August 31, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Contract documents including Plans, Specifications and Bid Forms are available for download on the County Buynet site: http://buynet.sdcounty.ca.gov .You must be registered at the site in order to download documents. The Contractor shall possess, at the time of submitting the bid, a California contractor's license, Classification A, General Engineering Contractor or Classification C-12, Earthwork and Paving Contractor. The cost of construction is estimated to be from $700,000 to $760,000. Bid security of no less than 10% required at time of bid. Successful bidder shall provide Payment and Performance Bonds for 100% of the contract amount. Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Owner, as a matter of policy, encourages Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation for this project. NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS FOR FLOOD CONTROL, FLOODPLAIN AND WATER QUALITY CONSULTING SERVICES AS NEEDED
The County of San Diego Department of Public Works invites qualified Consultants to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) to provide Flood Control, Floodplain and Water Quality Consulting Services on an as-needed basis to support the Department of Public Works (DPW) Flood Control Group. Engineering, project management, and land surveying services are required on an as-needed basis for flood control, floodplain management, and water quality projects. These projects will be related to but not limited to Letter of Map Changes to FEMA and County of San Diego floodplain maps, FEMA’s Community Ratings System (CRS) Class updates and activity credits, and other FEMA related issues. Consultant shall provide a project design team including project manager, licensed engineers, land surveyors, and GIS professional staff (as required). Consultant shall be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of the latest versions of ArcGIS, AES-SIMS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WSPGW, FLO-2D, Autodesk Land Desktop, Civil Design, Raster Design, Survey and Civil 3D 2008 version, for the preparation of drainage hydrology and hydraulic studies (and other related studies), engineering designs, construction details and plans. Multiple contracts are intended to be awarded from this Qualification Based Selection. Awarded contracts shall not exceed $1,000,000 for a term of up to five (5) years each. Contract award is projected for October 2010. Compensation to Awarded Consultant shall be on a Task Order basis. County may assign Task Orders to Awarded Consultants in any order for this project and task assignments shall be at the sole discretion of the County. Assignment of Task Orders may be made when the County has need for consultant A/E services but assignment of any Task Order during the duration of the contract is not guaranteed.
