NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Southwestern Community College District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the “DISTRICT” will receive up to, but no later than two o'clock 2:00 p.m. of the 9th day of September 2010, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Southwestern College: BID No. 177 - Student Services Center Modernization Bid Package 1 - General Construction, License Requirement: B; BID No. 178- Student Services Center Modernization Bid Package 2 - HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Sprinklers, License Requirement: C20; BID No. 179 - Student Services Center Modernization Bid Package 3 - Electrical, Data & Fire Alarm, License Requirement: C10
Bids shall be received in the office of the Program Manager; Seville Construction Services at Southwestern College, Building 1688, located south of bldgs 1684 and 1687B at 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910, and shall be opened on the date and the time listed above.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which will be available after August 18th, 2010 at Escondido Reprographics located at 1130 Simpson Way, Escondido, CA 92029, phone number: 760-745-8626. Copies of the above referenced bid packages are the responsibility of the Contractor to procure at the standard ERI rates. CD's are $10.00. Documents can also be viewed and downloaded free at www.eriplanroom.com/private.php using the key code “student” (case sensitive) or by contacting Wendy Dean at 760-737-3003/email wdean@echopacific.com. Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
The successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract, which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at Southwestern Community College. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. This bid is not subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements.
This contract is subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of section 1771.5 of the Labor Code.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 and Public Contract Code Section 3300, and shall be licensed in the following classification as required by the scope of work required in the above called out bid packages: B, C10 or C20. Any bidder not licensed at the time of the bid opening will be rejected as non-responsive.
Contractors shall have been in business under the same name and California contractor's license for a minimum of three (3) continuous years prior to bid opening.
A MANDATORY bidders conference will be held at Southwestern Community College, 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista 91910 on August 27, 2010 at the Student Services Building at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The proposed Project, entitled the San Miguel Regional Training Facility, would be a Regional Emergency Services Training Center (RESTC) established in partnership with the Otay Water District, the San Miguel Consolidated Fire Protection District, and the Heartland Training Facility Authority. The RESTC has secured a long-term lease from the Otay Water District for a 3.5 acre portion of the 70-acre Regulatory Reservoir property on which the facility would be located. The RESTC is intended to provide emergency services training to fire and public utilities entities to meet modern day training standards and requirements.

Request for Proposals for Environmental Compliance Monitoring for Construction of the Miramar Hill to Scripps Ranch Pipelines 3 & 4 Relining Project
The scope of work includes environmental support during the final design phase of the relining project and environmental compliance services during construction of the project.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That the Palomar Community College District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, will receive up to 4:30 p.m., on the 2nd day of September 2010 RFQ responses from California licensed and qualified Architects that will furnish master planning, district design guidelines, design, design drawings, cost estimating, and construction drawings to the District for a number of projects including new construction, remodels, ADA projects, development of swing space and other miscellaneous projects on a year-to-year basis, for a total period of up to five (5) calendar years. It is expected that the “District Master Architect” will respond to all requests for services regardless of the size of the project.
All proposals shall be received in the office of Contract Services, Room A-3, Administration Building located at 1140 W. Mission Road, San Marcos, California 92069-1487 on the date and time as stated above.
Each submittal shall conform and be responsive to the Request for Qualifications (RFQ), a copy of which is on file and may be obtained by calling the District's Contract Services at (760) 744-1150, ext. 2697, or at the following website:

All qualified firms and persons shall have current licenses as required to complete the design and engineering work, and each applicant shall furnish all required certificates of insurance and proof of financial responsibility as set forth in the RFQ. The District reserves the right to reject any or all applicants, and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the RFQ and RFQ process. District is an equal opportunity employer.
All applicants shall be screened and evaluated by a District committee and those applicants selected for the short list will be invited to attend an interview, at the applicant's own expense, at the District's San Marcos campus on a date and time to be scheduled.
