PLEASE ACCEPT THIS AS A NOTICE TO INFORM YOU, as a property owner, tenant or interested citizen, that the Council of The City of San Diego, California will conduct a public hearing, as part of a scheduled City Council meeting, on the following project:
To execute Amendment Number 5 to the agreement with Lee & Ro Consulting Engineers Inc. for $976,759 for engineering services during the construction of the Grit Processing Improvement Facility at the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant. This Amendment will bring the total contract cost with Lee & Ro Consulting Engineers for Engineering services on Grit Processing Improvement Facility to $3,911,121.
COMMUNICATIONS
This item may begin at any time after the time specified. Any interested person may address the City Council to express support or opposition to this issue. Time allotted to each speaker is determined by the Chair and, in general, is limited to three (3) minutes; moreover, collective testimony by those in support or opposition shall be limited to no more than fifteen (15) minutes total per side.
Those unable to attend the hearing may write a letter to the Mayor and City Council, Attention: City Clerk, City Administration Building, 202 "C" Street, San Diego, CA 92101 3862, Mail Station 2A; OR you can reach us by E-mail at: Hearings1@sandiego.gov or FAX: (619) 533-4045.  As a property owner, tenant, or person who has requested notice, please be advised that the Hearing Officer will hold a public hearing to approve, conditionally approve, or deny an application for a Process 3 Conditional Use Permit and Neighborhood Development Permit to construct a two story, 1,767 square foot classroom and 5,125 square foot office addition to an existing child care center. The proposed project site is located at 2360 East Jewett Street, on the west side East Jewett Street, west of Linda Vista Road, in the RM-3-7 Zone within the Linda Vista Community Plan, Residential Tandem Parking Overlay Zone (RTPOZ), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 77 Noticing Area for San Diego International Airport (SDIA).
 The decision of the Hearing Officer is final unless appealed to the Planning Commission.  In order to appeal the decision you must be present at the public hearing and file a speaker slip concerning the application or have expressed interest by writing to the Hearing Officer before the close of the public hearing. The appeal must be made within 10 working days of the Hearing Officer's decision. The environmental exemption determination for this project was made on June 11, 2008, and the opportunity to appeal that determination ended on June 25, 2008.
