CALLING FOR BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the National School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 10:00 a.m. of the 27th day of August, 2010, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Replacement of Evaporative Condenser at Palmer Way, 09-10/125.
Bids shall be received in the Office of the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services of the National School District
located at the National School District Administration Center, 1500 N Avenue, National City, CA and shall be opened
and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be
obtained on August 12, 2010, at National School District Website at www.nsd.us, Business/Purchasing.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the
list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Information to Bidders.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000.00, the successful bidder, shall file a payment bond issued
by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set
forth in the contract documents. A payment bond must be filed for a contract involving an expenditure in excess of
$25,000.00 (Civil Code Section 3247(a) and may be required for contracts involving smaller expenditures at the
option of the District.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the
bidding.
The lowest bid shall be the lowest total of the bid prices on the base contract as set forth in the bid form.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in
which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be
awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon
request. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor
under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the
contract.
Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. This bid is not subject to Disabled
Veteran Business Enterprise requirements.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: B- General Contractor.
A mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Board Room, 1500 N Avenue, National City, 91950 for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid
documents and the work site.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of the bids.

CITY OF VISTA
NOTICE INVITING BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the City of Vista for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and all other necessary items and facilities, as provided in the Contract Documents, for the STREET REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (CIP NO.s 8015, 8054, 8127, & 8128) in accordance with the Plans and Specifications on file at the Office of the City Engineer of the City of Vista, California. Bids will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, located on the second floor of the City of Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista, California 92084-6240, until 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes as one package marked on the outside, “STREET REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (CIP NO.s 8015, 8054, 8127, & 8128).” The project sites are located in the vicinity of East Vista Way between Civic Center Drive and E. Taylor Street, and at the intersection of East Drive and North Santa Fe Avenue, in the City of Vista, California. The work to be included in the bid generally consists of: erosion control; traffic control; traffic signals with CCTV cameras and connections to existing fiber optic interconnect systems; PCC curb and gutter, curb ramps, spandrel and cross-gutter, driveway entrance, flatwork, sidewalk, and steps; removal and replacement of asphalt concrete in distressed pavement areas; cold milling; asphalt concrete pavement and overlay; adjustment of manholes and utility covers to grade; traffic detector loops; pavement markings and striping; and other related improvements. The Engineer's Construction Cost Estimate for this project is $950,000. Beginning August 19, 2010, a full set of contract documents will be available for inspection without charge at the Office of the City Engineer of the City of Vista, California. Notice is hereby given by the Southwestern Community College District of San Diego County, California, hereinafter referred to as the District, acting by and through its Governing Board, will receive up to, but not later than 3:00 p.m. on the 3rd day of September 2010, responses to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Special Inspection, Material Testing, and Geotechnical Engineering Services at Southwestern Community College.
Responses shall be received in the office of the Bond Program Director, Henry Amigable, Building 1688, at 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910, on the date and at the time stated above.
There will be a mandatory pre-proposal meeting at 10:00 a.m. on August 27, 2010 at 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910, Building 1688, Conference Room). Please arrive early due to limited seating. Parking permits will be provided in Building 1688.
