NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Southwestern Community College District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the “DISTRICT” will receive up to, but no later than two o'clock 2:00 p.m. of the 9th day of September 2010, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Southwestern College: BID No. 177 - Student Services Center Modernization Bid Package 1 - General Construction, License Requirement: B; BID No. 178- Student Services Center Modernization Bid Package 2 - HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Sprinklers, License Requirement: C20; BID No. 179 - Student Services Center Modernization Bid Package 3 - Electrical, Data & Fire Alarm, License Requirement: C10
Bids shall be received in the office of the Program Manager; Seville Construction Services at Southwestern College, Building 1688, located south of bldgs 1684 and 1687B at 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910, and shall be opened on the date and the time listed above.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which will be available after August 18th, 2010 at Escondido Reprographics located at 1130 Simpson Way, Escondido, CA 92029, phone number: 760-745-8626. Copies of the above referenced bid packages are the responsibility of the Contractor to procure at the standard ERI rates. CD's are $10.00. Documents can also be viewed and downloaded free at www.eriplanroom.com/private.php using the key code “student” (case sensitive) or by contacting Wendy Dean at 760-737-3003/email wdean@echopacific.com. Please note that you will need to log in under your company's name and password in order to download the plans. Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
The successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract, which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at Southwestern Community College. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. This bid is not subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements.
This contract is subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of section 1771.5 of the Labor Code.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 and Public Contract Code Section 3300, and shall be licensed in the following classification as required by the scope of work required in the above called out bid packages: B, C10 or C20. Any bidder not licensed at the time of the bid opening will be rejected as non-responsive.
Contractors shall have been in business under the same name and California contractor's license for a minimum of three (3) continuous years prior to bid opening.
A MANDATORY bidders conference will be held at Southwestern Community College, 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista 91910 on August 27, 2010 at the Student Services Building at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

The Otay Water District (District) will require the services of an engineering design firm (Consultant) to provide engineering design services for the design of the Otay Mesa Conveyance and Disinfection System Project. The project includes a pipeline, disinfection facility, and a pump station to convey potable water from Otay Mesa to the 571-1 Reservoir. The general scope of work for the project includes but is not limited to the following:

Interested candidates are required to e-mail a Letter of Interest and a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) to Bob Kennedy, P.E., at bob.kennedy@otaywater.gov. If a firm has submitted a SOQ to the District within the calendar year and the qualifications remain current and accurate, then only a Letter of Interest is required.

Solar PV System – Rail ROW

Notice is hereby given that proposals will be received by the North County Transit District at NCTD, 810 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054, up to 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 22, 2010 for the Solar PV System on the Sprinter Light Rail Right-of-Way.
Project Description:  NCTD seeks proposals from qualified firms (Contractor) to procure and install a demonstration solar photovoltaic power generation system at along the Sprinter light rail right-of-way.
Contractor’s License: 
Proposers shall be licensed in accordance with State law and shall have and maintain the appropriate State licensure for the work proposed under their proposal.   Pursuant to California Public Contract Code section 20103.5, no proposal submitted shall be invalidated by NCTD for failure of the Offeror to be licensed in accordance with the laws of this state at the time of proposal submittal.  Failure of the successful Offeror to obtain proper and adequate licensing for award of the contract for the Project shall constitute a failure to execute the contract.
Required Contractor Experience: Three successful previous comparable solar projects.
Estimated Value of Work:  $250,000 to $350,000
