Bids shall be received in the BOARD ROOM of the DISTRICT OFFICE OF CAJON VALLEY UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT located at 189 ROANOKE ROAD, EL CAJON, CA 92020 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
A job walk will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, 9:30 a.m., Cajon Valley Middle School, 395 Ballantyne, El Cajon, CA 92020 for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. It is imperative that all bidders attend this conference. Contractors are to meet by the construction trailer by the new Joint Use Gym project on the Park Avenue side of the school.
There is no engineer's estimate at this time for each bid. Questions regarding this bid should be directed to John Krueger, Construction Manager, West Coast Air Conditioning, (619) 561-8000.
Contractors submitting a bid over $1 million dollars must be pre-qualified in the amount of their submitted bid in accordance with Public Contract Code 20111.5. Bid packages G, H, I and S are within the $1 million dollar threshold range, which will could require pre-qualification approvals for submittal depending on the bid. However, any bid package, regardless of whether it is explicitly listed or not exceeding $1 million MUST be pre-qualified in order to be submitted. Completed pre-qualified forms for this project in this case must be submitted by 3:00 p.m., September 20, 2005. Contractors will be notified of their pre-qualified rating as soon as possible, or by September 26, 2005, prior to the bid opening.. Pre-qualification packages are now available on the web page for the Purchasing Department: www.cajonvalley.net under Departments, Purchasing and must be returned in a confidential envelope to Susan Olinger, Director of Purchasing & Warehousing, Cajon Valley Union School District, 535 Vernon Way, El Cajon, CA 92020.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. Bid packages and plans will be available for pick up by September 2, 2005 at Mayer Reprographics, 1065 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103, (619) 295-4112 for a deposit of $300.00 per set of bid package and plans.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
Cajon Valley Union School District will require a payment bond issued by an admitted surety approved to conduct business in the State of California in the form set forth in the contract documents from the successful bidder regardless of the contract amount.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20103.8, should this bid solicitation include additive and/or deductive items, the lowest bid shall be the lowest bid price on the base bid plus all additive alternates, minus all deductive alternates.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. Prevailing Wage Determinations are available on the Internet under the Director of Industrial Relation's website: http:///www.dir.ca.gov
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
inority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids , three percent (3%) participation is encouraged. Bidders are encouraged to publish ads in a trade paper and DVBE focus paper as a good faith effort and provide any documentation with their bid.
This contract is not subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of Section 1771.5 of the Labor Code
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed as listed by each bid package. Note, B, General may bid on any bid package if appropriate.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS OF POTABLE WATER
IN THE CITY OF DEL MAR
The CITY OF DEL MAR requires the services of a CONTRACTOR, certified under the Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program from the State of California Ð Department of Health Services to sample, analyze and report the quality of the potable water provided by the City. Bid packages are available without charge from the City Clerk at 1050 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014.
RECEIPT AND OPENING OF PROPOSALS: Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the City Clerk, until 2:00 P.M., on September 27, 2005, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud at said office. Mailed bids must be received by bid closing and will be addressed to: City Clerk (Bid for Sampling and Analysis of Potable Water in the City of Del Mar), 1050 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014.
The contract award will be based upon total price of the proposal. Contract will be executed as a standard City of Del Mar contract and will be based on the annual cost of the minimum number of expected samples.
PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: No specification interpretations will be made by telephone. Questions shall be in writing and delivered to 2240 Jimmy Durante Boulevard by hand or by FAX addressed to the Public Works Director David Scherer at (858) 481-0254, at least ten days before the bid closing date.
