NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS INVITING BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Sweetwater Union High School District, Chula Vista, CA, acting by and through its governing board, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services for:

Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professional Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: C-13 and/or B
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. Copies of the documents may be obtained at the district office located at 1130 Fifth Ave., Chula Vista, CA, to be picked up in person at the Purchasing Department at no cost. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held as follows: September 9, 2008, 8:00 a.m. in the Maintenance Conf. Room at 1130 Fifth Ave., Chula Vista, CA. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Each bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside the name of the Bidder and name of the project for which the bid is submitted, accompanied by an acceptable form of security and filed with District at the Purchasing Department, 1130 Fifth Avenue, Chula Vista, California 91911-2896 on or before September 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. Bids received after this date shall be returned unopened. Bids will be opened and read aloud on September 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.
LABOR COMPLIANCE NOTICE: The District has implemented and shall enforce a Labor Compliance Program. Under this program the District, in part, will review and audit payroll records to verify compliance with labor laws and shall have the right to withhold payments and enforce penalties for non-compliance. For questions concerning this Program, contact the Purchasing Dept. at (619) 691-5540.
WAGES: The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this public work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract. Copies of that determination are available on the Department of Industrial Relations' website at http://www.dir.ca.gov
Each bid shall be submitted on the bid form provided in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, or certified check, or cashier's check in favor of the Sweetwater Union High School District, or cash, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. Said Bid Bond shall be given to guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract as specified.
The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 60
