is scheduled for September 18, 2008, starting at 9:00 a.m., in front of the main office of The Children's School (Scripps ES), 2225 Torrey Pines Lane, San Diego, CA 92037. Under Public Contract Code 3400, the District, or its designee, has made a finding described in this invitation for bids that only Simplex
products will be used to match existing fire alarm system in use on this particular public improvement either completed or in the course of completion. PLEASE SEE BID FOR DETAILS. (Bid No. C89-023-LH)
The project estimate is between $280,000 and $350,000. The District requires that Bidders possess any of the following classification(s) of California Contractors License at the time that the Contract for Work is awarded: A
or other appropriate license.
All bids must be received by Physical Plant Operations Center, Contract Management Office, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, California 92111, up to, but no later than, 2:00 p.m. on October 9, 2008, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. All late bids shall be deemed non-responsive and will not be opened. Each bid shall be in accordance with specifications, plans, and other contract documents now on file at the Contracts Management Office. Each bid shall be submitted on a bid form furnished by the District. Bid forms and other pertinent documents may be obtained from Universal Reprographics, 1747 Hancock Street, Suite E, San Diego, CA 92101 telephone number (619) 295-7882, beginning September 9, 2008. A deposit of $50.00
for each bid set is required. Checks for deposit will be required, made payable to the San Diego Unified School District. This deposit is refundable according to the conditions outlined in the bid documents. Bid documents will not be faxed.
Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to the statutes of the State of California, the director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom this contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
The San Diego Unified School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of any bid, or to waive any irregularities, or informalities in the bids, or in the bidding.
Each bid must be submitted on the bid form provided in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and Surety Company, or certified check, or cashier's check in favor of the San Diego Unified School District, or cash, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. Said Bid Bond shall be given to guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract as specified, within five (5) working days after the notification of the award of the contract to bidder.
Attention is called to the fact that a list of proposed subcontractors must be submitted with the bid.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.

REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS AND PROPOSAL (RFQ/P)
FOR PROPOSITION S STAFF
Notice is hereby given that the San Diego Unified School District of San Diego County, California (District) desires to engage one or more firms to provide a complete range of professional services as an extension of District staff. It is anticipated that the selected firm(s) will provide assistance in the following areas: project management, project scheduling and budgeting, and construction management. Services will include program analysis, fiscal management, acquisition and environmental planning (including CEQA), project and design coordination and other related services. The actual contracted scope of work shall be negotiated with the selected firm(s) based on the services proposed by the firm(s) and/or required by the District.
