NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Sweetwater Union High School District,
of San Diego County, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. on 10/07/2010, sealed bids for the award of a contract for:

Southwest Middle School - Miscellaneous Construction
Bid #01-2219-GP

The Sweetwater Union High School District is committed to promoting the growth and advancement of local, disadvantaged, and small businesses. Those submitting proposals to the district are strongly encouraged to recruit such businesses as subcontractors, vendors, and consultants. The district will consider proposals incorporating joint ventures and/or partnerships in the interests of supporting this commitment.

Description of Work: Building A - Library: exterior painting, casework, electrical, library equipment, vinyl tackboard wall covering and signage. Building B - Administration: exterior painting, casework, electrical, refinishing of Lobby B100, vinyl tackboard wall covering and signage. Building G - Gym & Textbook Storage: exterior painting, casework, electrical, refinishing of wainscoting ,mobile storage system and signage. Building H - Boy's Locker Room: exterior painting, casework, installation of a privacy wall, ADA lockers and signage. Building I - Girl's Locker Room: exterior painting, casework, ADA lookers and signage. Building J - Classroom: exterior painting, casework, electrical, library equipment, vinyl tackboard wall covering and signage. Site Work Upgrades: Solis preparation, planting, site signage and chainlink fencing.

Completion of Work: 98 consecutive calendar days

Engineer's Estimate: $500,000.00

Sealed bids shall be received in the office the Purchasing Department of the Sweetwater Union High School District, 1130 Fifth Avenue, Chula Vista, California 91911-2896, telephone no. (619) 691-5540.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. on 09/15/2010, to review the Project scope, bid requirements and the Project's existing conditions. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is a perquisite for submitting a bid. The pre-bid meeting will take place at Southwest Middle School 2710 Iris Avenue, San Diego, CA 92154. Bidders are to check in at the Southwest Middle School Administration Office.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Southwestern Community College District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the “DISTRICT” will receive up to, but no later than two o'clock 2:00 p.m. of the 6th Day of October 2010, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Southwestern College:
BID No. 182 - Building 570 Project
Bid Package 1 - Selective Demolition and Hazardous Material Abatement.
Bids shall be received in the office of the Program Manager; Seville Construction Services at Southwestern College, Building 1688, located at 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910, and shall be opened on the date and the time listed above. Building 1688 is located south of buildings 1684 and 1687B.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which will be available after September 14th, 2010 at Escondido Reprographics located at 1130 Simpson Way, Escondido, CA 92029, phone number: 760-745-8626. Copies of the above referenced bid packages are the responsibility of the Contractor to procure at the standard ERI rates. CD's are $10.00. Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
The successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract, which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at Southwestern Community College. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. This bid is not subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements.
This contract is subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of section 1771.5 of the Labor Code.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 and Public Contract Code Section 3300, and shall be licensed in the following classification as required by the scope of work required in the above called out bid packages: B, C10, C20, C21, ASB/HAZ. Any bidder not licensed at the time of the bid opening will be rejected as non-responsive.
Contractors shall have been in business under the same name and California contractor's license for a minimum of three (3) continuous years prior to bid opening.
A MANDATORY bidders conference will be held at Southwestern Community College, 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista 91910 on September 23rd, 2010 in Building 570, Room 571 at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

The Rainbow Municipal Water District (District) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the Morro Reservoir Rehabilitation Project. Description of Work: Site modifications and improvements including the installation of a geomembrane floating cover, geomembrane liner, modifications to existing inlet and outlet piping, extension of inlet piping, replacement of valves, paving, fencing, and all associated facilities and improvements as shown on the Drawings and described in the Specifications. The Engineer's Opinion of Probable Cost is $9M.
There will be a non-mandatory prebid meeting at the District, 3707 Old Highway 395, Fallbrook, CA 92028 on September 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Sealed bids will be received only at the District on October 29, 2010 until 2:00 p.m.

The Rainbow Municipal Water District (District) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the Pala Mesa Tank - Phase 1 Project. Description of work: Demolition of existing reservoir, removal of piping improvements; excavation and off-site surplus material disposal; grading; and construction of drainage improvements as shown and specified in the contract documents. The construction cost estimate is $2.8M.
There will be a non-mandatory prebid meeting at the District, 3707 Old Highway 395, Fallbrook, CA 92028 on September 14, 2010 starting at 2:00 p.m. Sealed bids will be received only at the District on September 24, 2010 until 2:00 p.m.
