Sealed bids will be received by J GELT Corporation dba Casa Pacifica Adult Day Health Care Center at 1424 30th Street Suite C, San Diego, CA 92154 until 2 p.m. September 23, 2013 for meals for service in Adult Day Health Care Center. At said time and place and promptly thereafter all bids that have been duly received would be publicly opened and read aloud.
Description of Product for Bid:
The following types and quantities of meals: lunch from Monday to Friday; about 130 meals per day.
Daily delivery of meals to one center location.
Types or forms of packaging or containerizing to be used for meals: prepackaged meals inclusive of milk based on a 30-day menu cycle to be provided by this agency.
All meals of every type will meet the minimum standards set by the United States Department of Agriculture for Child and Adult Care Food Program meals of that type.
The meals to be served under this contract must meet the requirements of Title 22 of the State Health and Welfare Code and Title 7, Code of Federal Regulations, RDA and approximately 50% will require modification in preparation method or content to meet medical prescriptions of the program participants.
The Contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder whose bid is responsive to this invitation and is most advantageous to the Casa Pacifica ADHC Center, price and other factors considered.
Any or all bids may be rejected when it is in the interest of Casa Pacifica ADHC Center to do so.

All bids must be submitted in writing, sealed and filed in the Tri-City Facilities Management Department at the above address, by 3:00 p.m. on September 20, 2013 at which time they will be opened for consideration. The bidder will be selected based on the best value to the Tri City Healthcare District.

As applicable for the goods and services bid upon, pursuant to Labor Code section 1770 the successful bidder shall pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations. A bid security bond, in an amount not less than 10% of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a payment bond and a performance bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price as a condition precedent to the contract. In accordance with the procedures stated in California Public Contract Code section 22300, the successful bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld to ensure performance of the work.
