AT CONTINUING EDUCATION
Bids shall be received in the office of the Owner in Suite 310 at the SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, 3375 Camino del Rio, South, Suite 310, San Diego, California, 92108
and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after
January 28, 2013,
at the San Diego Community College Website at no cost: http://public.sdccdprops-n.com/Contractors/Bid/Pages/default.aspx.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Walk
will be held as follows: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4th, 2013 at 2:30 pm or WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6th, 2013 at 2:30 pm.
The walks will be held at 3890 Modoc St., San Diego, CA 92117
. It is mandatory to attend at least one bid walk to participate with this project. If you did NOT attend one of the previous bid walks (May 7th or May 9th, 2012), you must attend one of the times listed above. Should a bidder not attend, they will not be allowed to bid as it is a material requirement of the contract.
As a condition of bidding and in accordance with the provisions of Section 20651.5 of the California Public Code and Section 20101 of the California Local Agency Public Construction Act, the District is requiring prequalification of all general contractors wishing to submit bids on the project. Bids will not be accepted if a contractor has not been prequalified
In contracts involving expenditure in excess of $ 25,000.00
, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The lowest responsive bid will be determined solely on the lowest base contract bid. Even if alternate bids are sought by the District, the lowest responsive bid will be based solely on the lowest base contract bid.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies are at the following website: www.dir.ca.gov
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Labor Compliance Program: The general contractor and every subcontractor that is listed in the bid documents shall be required to comply with the District's Labor Compliance Program.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: A or C21 and both will require an ASB and HAZ certification. The contractor may subcontract to a listed contractor with these hazmat certifications.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of Ninety (90)
