PLEASE ACCEPT THIS AS A NOTICE TO INFORM YOU, as a property owner, tenant or interested citizen, that the Council of The City of San Diego, California will conduct a public hearing, as part of a scheduled City Council meeting, on the following project:
Matter of approving, conditionally approving, modifying or denying approval of a General/Community Plan Amendment, Rezone from RS-1-7 to RM-3-7 and Conditional Use Permit for the construction of 60 for-rent senior housing units within a two-story building, above underground parking, totally approximately 71,305 square-feet, on a vacant 1.21 acre site located at 5150 Zion Avenue. The proposed project will conform to the Inclusionary Affordable Housing Requirements and Council Policy 600-27 (A) criteria for the Affordable/In-Fill Housing Expedite Program by providing 100% affordable senior housing. The 1.21 acre site is located at 5150 Zion Avenue, northwest corner of Zion Avenue and Glenroy Street, in the RS-1-7 Zone, Airport Land Use Compatibility Overlay Zone. Airport influence Area (Review Area 2) Overlay Zone, the FAA Part 77 Notification Overlay Zone. Montgomery Field Overflight Notification Area Overlay Zone, and in Subarea C of the Grantville Redevelopment Project Area, within the Navajo Community Plan Area.
The Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the project to City Council, at their meeting on January 17, 2013, by a vote of 6-0-1.ZONE DESCRIPTIONS

*Unless otherwise noticed or stated on the record at the hearing, if an ordinance is approved and introduced by the City Council, it will automatically be scheduled for a hearing by the City Council for final passage at 10:00 am on the Tuesday two weeks after the subject hearing.
The decision of the City Council is final.
This item may begin at any time after the time specified. Any interested person may address the City Council to express support or opposition to this issue. Time allotted to each speaker is determined by the Chair and, in general, is limited to three (3) minutes;
moreover, collective testimony by those in support or opposition shall be limited to no more than fifteen (15) minutes total per side
