NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Poway Unified School District intends to sell, at public bid, real property known as the Water Tower Site, located at 16061 Avenida Venusto, Assessor's Parcel Number 274-840-06-00, in the City of San Diego, San Diego County, California, pursuant to Board Resolution No. 22-2013 adopted January 22, 2013 and has extended the bid/public auction process as follows:
The minimum written acceptable bid for the property is $6,600,000. Sealed written bids must be submitted to the Poway Unified School District, Planning Department, 13626 Twin Peaks Road, Poway, CA 92064, no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2013.
Each sealed written bid must be accompanied by a bid form and a bid deposit in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid price, payable to the Poway Unified School District. The bid deposit must be by certified check or cashier's check, which shall be applied to the purchase price of the successful bidder.
All sealed written bids will be presented to the Board for its consideration at the March Board meeting on Monday, May 20, 2013 which begins at 6:00 p.m
. in the PUSD Community Room located at 15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego, CA 92128. The District will conduct a public auction and call for oral bids. Any oral bid made during the public auction must be at least 5% over the amount of the highest sealed written bid received by the District. Oral bidders must also submit the ten percent (10%) bid deposit prior to commencement of the public auction.
The Board of Education will accept the highest responsible bid, written or oral, or reject all bids, at the regular Board meeting on Monday, May 20, 2013
The successful bidder shall be required to execute a purchase and sale agreement with the District and pay an additional deposit consistent with the terms of the Board of Education's final acceptance of a successful bid.
The property shall be sold as is and all due diligence must be completed prior to submitting a written or oral bid. Escrow shall close within thirty (30) days, unless extended by the Board.
A description of the property, appraisal report, and preliminary title report pertaining to the property will be contained in the Property Information File.
The property may be inspected by appointment only.
