California home sales rise, driven by lower-priced markets

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- California home sales regained footing in September and prices cooled as buyers sought property in more affordable markets away from the coast, a research firm said Tuesday.

Pierce Education Properties purchases property at Ball State University

San Diego-based Pierce Education Properties, a student housing investment, development and management firm, said it has purchased Windermere Place, an off-campus student housing community serving Ball State University students, for $16.75 million.
