Joseph J. Greenblatt, president of San Diego-based Sunrise Management, was elected president-elect of the 18,000-plus member Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), serving a one-year term.
At Sunrise Management, Greenblatt oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, its portfolio of more than 11,000 resident units, and its 300 employees officed in San Diego and Sacramento; Mesa, Ariz.; and Las Vegas.
Greenblatt has been active in IREM’s San Diego Chapter No.18, and has served in chapter leadership positions, including that of president. He was the chapter’s “Certified Property Manager Candidate of the Year” in 1991 and its “CPM of the Year” in 1994.
He is a member of IREM’s national faculty, has served as chairman of its national Ethics Hearing and Discipline, and as an IREM senior vice president with oversight for IREM’s educational programs and activities. He is the recipient of two of IREM national’s service awards, the IREM “Key Award” in September 1993, and its “Past President’s Award” in 1996.
Greenblatt is a member of the board of the Bobby Jo Lewis Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, the National Apartment Association (NAA), and NAA’s San Diego Chapter. He is a member of the San Diego County Apartment Association, having previously served the group as a board member.
