ULI to host Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan briefing

The Urban Land Institute San Diego/Tijuana will host a discussion on the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan at its monthly breakfast meeting on Tuesday.

Representatives from the Port of San Diego, Chula Vista and Pacifica Cos. will be part of the panel discussion that will talk about the entitlement process, financing and the next step in the Bayfront Master Plan.

On Aug. 9, the California Coastal Commission unanimously approved the plan to develop 556 acres of land off the Chula Vista Bay that spans from just south of state Route 54 and north of L Street.

The plans call for a convention center, hotels, residential complexes, commercial and retail storefronts and approximately 240 acres of parks and nature preserve.

The meeting will be held at the University Club and begins at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $45 for members, $30 for students and public employees and $55 for non ULI members. Registration is available at ulisd.org or by calling 800-321-5011.

Pre-registration ends Thursday. After the deadline, all registrations will be handled at the door and will include an additional $10 fee.
