On the Move: New chairman for Ocean Discovery board

Sean Caddell, a luxury property specialist with Willis M. Allen Real Estate in Del Mar, has been elected the new chairman of the Ocean Discovery Institute's Board of Directors for the next two years.

Caddell, who has served on Ocean Discovery's board for the past three years, has been associated with the educational organization for the past 12 years.

Ocean Discovery works in partnership with National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, San Diego Unified School District, along with other corporations and foundations in San Diego.

Chuck Pryatel has been promoted to San Diego Regional Environmental Services Leader of SCS Engineers.

With 32 years of experience specializing in environmental regulatory affairs, Pryatel acts as regulatory agency liaison resolving complex environmental issues related to the management of hazardous materials.

David DeRoche has joined NAI San Diego as a senior vice president and managing director of brokerage services.

Prior to joining NAI San Diego, DeRoche was a senior vice president with Sentre Partners for 16 years, focusing on Class A office leasing in downtown San Diego and suburban markets.

Romik Kesian has joined the San Diego office of Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) to lead the local Project & Development Services division

Prior to moving to San Diego, Kesian -- a JLL senior vice president -- managed projects in JLL's Denver and Chicago offices.

Bill Speer has joined London Group Realty Advisors as a principal.

With more than 25 years of industry experience focusing on the retail sector, Speer headed his own consulting firm for 12 years. He also served as a department head for TrizecHahn's market research and financial analysis department.

Ciara Layne, Rob Morgan, Joe Crotty, Derek Hulse and Erik McNary have been promoted to new posts in the San Diego and Carlsbad offices of Colliers International.

Layne has been promoted to vice president, specializing in land sales of both single family and attached developments.

Morgan has also gained the title of vice president. He specializes in mid-to-high density residential land sales.

Crotty has been named a senior vice president focusing on industrial and research and development sales, and leasing in North San Diego County.

His primary focus is representing owners, both private and institutional, of multi-tenant office projects.

Hulse has been promoted to associate vice president, specializing in the central San Diego office market.

McNary has been named an associate vice president.

He specializes in the leasing and sales of industrial, land and R&D properties in North County San Diego including Carlsbad, Vista, Oceanside and San Marcos.

Amy Leung has been appointed as a risk control advisor for Cavignac & Associates.

With more than 17 years of experience in the insurance industry, Leung most recently served as a safety administrator for the city of Escondido, where she coordinated and implemented loss control and safety programs.

Kevin Carpenter, Anh Ngu and Amanda Scheidlinger have been named associates at Architects Mosher Drew Design & Planning (formerly Mosher Drew Watson & Ferguson).

Carpenter has spent seven years at Moser Drew, and designed a wide range of projects, from zoological exhibits to military research and testing.

Ngu, who has spent four years at Mosher Drew and 15 years in the industry overall, has worked on a variety of military projects such as the Naval medical center here, and jobs for the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and Rady Children's Hospital.

Scheidlinger focuses on sustainable design as it pertains to projects for higher education, zoological buildings and solar canopy installations and other applications.
