Commercial and multifamily real estate finance professionals from around the world will shake hands this week at the Mortgage Bankers Association’s 2013 convention and expo.
The Commercial Real Estate Finance/Multifamily Housing Convention & Expo runs from Feb. 3 through Feb. 6 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt on 1 Market Place.
The event kicks off on Sunday with an opening reception in the expo hall for MBA’s Super Bowl Tailgate. A meet-and-greet with 1998 Super Bowl MVP Terrell Davis will be followed by the MBA’s Super Bowl viewing party, free and open to all CREF attendees.
The convention will feature special sessions with speakers: John Bucksbaum, founder of Bucksbaum Retail Properties LLC; Sally Gordon, managing director at BlackRock; Ted Leonsis, founder, chairman, majority owner and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment; Jay Brinkman, chief economist and senior vice president of research and education at the Mortgage Bankers Association; Jamie Woodwell, vice president of commercial real estate research at the Mortgage Bankers Association; Mark Monte, managing director of real estate and lodging syndications at Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Herbert A. Kolben, senior vice president of the real estate investment group at Union Labor Life Insurance Co.; Marina Massari, executive vice president of capital markets at CBRE; and Michael D. Thomas, executive vice president of debt capital markets at PNC Capital Markets LLC.
Other events include several committee and council meetings, Q&As and informational sessions covering topics such as, “The Search for Yield;” “FHA Multifamily and Healthcare: Still the ‘Star of the Show?;’” and portfolio, CMBS and high yield/non-traditional lending.
The exhibit hall will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
