University Towne Centre-based Retail Opportunity Investments Corp. (Nasdaq: ROIC) will replace AMCOL International Corp. (NYSE: ACO) in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close of trading on Friday, May 9.
AMCOL is being acquired by Minerals Technologies Inc. (NYSE: MTX). The S&P MidCap 400 constituent is acquiring AMCOL in a deal expected to be completed soon, pending final approvals.
ROIC, a real estate investment trust (REIT), engages in the acquisition, ownership and management of community and neighborhood shopping centers. The company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS (Global Industry Classification) Retail REITs Sub-Industry index.
