Brookfield to open Descanso at Del Sur this weekend

Brookfield Residential Southern California will unveil three model luxury homes at the opening of its new development in the Del Sur neighborhood of San Diego.

The development, named Descanso at Del Sur, will feature 39 homes, ranging from 3,423 to 3,940 square feet. Only five are being released to buyers in the first phase. Prices are anticipated from the low $1 million. The homes include four to six bedrooms, prep kitchens with oversized islands and "signature" Del Sur outdoor rooms. Large decks can be added on some home sites, according to Brookfield, while most sites will have views of the surrounding hillsides and canyons.

Depending on the model, buyers will have 4.5 to 6.5 bathrooms in the homes. Families can choose to utilize the lofts in some residences as retreats or bedrooms, or they can opt for a plan that features a crafting space or home office.

"People always tell us there's never enough space in the garage," Rocky Tracy, vice president of sales for Brookfield Residential Southern California, said. "In this case, we've made sure the garages include expanded storage and, in some plans, room for up to three cars -- or more toys."

One plan includes separate one- and two-car garages. The development's grand opening will be held Saturday at 15434 Tanner Ridge Circle in San Diego.
