Chuze in National City

The lessee of the Deal of the Week was represented by Chad Iafrate, of Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial. The lessor was represented by Ron Pepper, of Retail Insite.

The deal was a lease by Chuze Fitness of 19,788 square feet of retail space in Sweetwater Square at 3007 Highland Ave. in National City from SEA Property Management. The property was leased for 10 years at $2.9 million.

Sweetwater Square is a 124,457-square-foot community shopping center at 3003-3009 Highland Ave.

The center occupies a 12-acre site under a ground lease and was sold in early 2008 for $21.4 million.

National City is the second location opened by Chuze this year.

This summer, the fitness chain opened a 15,430-square-foot site at 11985 Bernardo Plaza Drive in Rancho Bernardo.

The 10-year lease was valued at $2.6 million. The lessee was represented by Iafrate. The locally and family owned chain now has six locations in San Diego County.

Globe veteran Scott Schwartz (A Room with a View at the Globe, The Hunchback of Notre Dame at La Jolla Playhouse) returns to direct Blair and Kinosianís Off Broadway hit, a vaudevillian mystery musical with an energetic two-man cast. Great American novelist Arthur Whitney has been murdered at his own birthday party, and his killer could be any one of the guests. But this is no ordinary murder mystery. The entire world of this hilarious musical is brought to life by two incredible performers: one plays the detective, the other plays all 10 suspects, and both play the piano!
