Shopping Centers council makes personnel moves

Jane McVey, Bill Rose, Sean Southard and Russell Rodriguez have been named to new posts with the International Council of Shopping Centers.

McVey, who has served as Oceanside's economic development director and director for many years, has been appointed as division alliance public sector co-chair.

Southard, a partner with Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP of San Diego, has been appointed the government relations committee chair; and Rodriguez, a manager of retail properties for American Assets Trust of San Diego, has been appointed operations chair.

Michael King and Joniene Swick have joined the San Diego office of Miyamoto International, a global earthquake and structural engineering firm.

King joins the firm as a senior associate. King’s most recent assignment was seven months at Miyamoto’s Haiti location where he helped assessed the impact of the earthquake on 400,000 structures in the Caribbean country.

Swick also joins Miyamoto International as regional business development associate in the firm's San Diego office.

Swick, who has more than five years experience in the industry, will assist with developing and maintaining client relationships to support business development efforts.

Jim Peters, a Prudential California Realty agent, has been given that firm’s Chairman's Circle Gold Award for his sales achievements in 2010.

The achievement ranks Peters, who is based in the Rancho Bernardo office, in the top 2 percent of Prudential's 54,100 agents nationwide.

Peters has more than 32 years of sales experience and more than 15 years in senior management.

Mike Erwin has joined Colliers International's brokerage office in Carlsbad as a senior vice president.

Formerly a top producer at Cassidy Turley/BRE Commercial for 12 years, Erwin will provide an array of real estate services, including investment sales and acquisitions, build-to-suit transactions, and landlord and tenant leasing.

Erwin served at the U. S. Treasury Department as a bank regulator for the Comptroller of the Currency from 1992 to 1998.

Erwin later joined Grubb&Ellis/BRE Commercial and has been designated as a CoStar (NYSE: CLGX) power broker for multiple years.
