McMillin Homes reports a sellout of the nine first-phase homes released at the model grand opening of its Trails neighborhood in Scripps Ranch Villages in San Diego. The weekend opening was preceded by a campout of 22 potential buyers. A second phase of 11 homes is to be released Oct. 10. Prices are expected to start in the $280,000s. Trails will total 87 homes. Three two-story floor plans range from 2,274 to 2,571 square feet with three and four bedrooms.


Davidson Communities announced the sellout of ten homes released last weekend as part of the first phase of its 62-home Amador development in San Diego. The final portion of the first phase is due for release Nov. 14. Prices range from $629,900 to $769,900. Three two-story floor plans range from 3,760 to 4,471 square feet with four to seven bedrooms.
Barratt American will begin site preparation next month on Beachwood, a neighborhood in master-planned Rancho del Oro in east Oceanside. Beachwood's 61 homes will offer four two-story floor plans from 2,341 to 2,988 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Introductory pricing is expected to range from the high $200,000s to approximately $300,000.
Pacific Bay Homes LLC reports 24 sales since the first phase of pre-sales began on Aug. 30 at its Pepperwood Way and Valencia Point neighborhoods in master-planned Rolling Hills Ranch in Chula Vista. Pepperwood Way homes offer three- and four-bedroom floor plans from 1,299 to 1,817 square feet with prices starting in the upper $170,000s. Valencia Point homes offer four and five bedrooms in floor plans from 2,063 to 2,856 square feet. Prices start in the upper $250,000s.
Ryland Homes has released ten homes in the tenth phase of The Estates, a single-family retirement village at The Colony in Murrieta. The homes are priced from $190,990 to $198,990. Ryland has sold 83 homes in the 12 months since the grand opening. So far this year, there have been nearly 200 sales at The Colony, surpassing the record 183 homes sold in 1997. "At our current sales pace, we should be totally sold out at The Colony by year's end," said Chris Beucler, Ryland Homes Southern California division president.
McMillin Homes has released the final phase of homes ahead of schedule at its Lafayette in Murrieta. The National City-based homebuilder reports seven of the nine homes in phase 12A were sold the first day, and the remaining two were gone by the end of that week. Prices for the nine homes in phase 12B range from $175,990 to $208,990. Lafayette has five one- and two-story floor plans from 1,966 to 2,792 square feet with three to seven bedrooms. To date, 142 of the planned 163 homes have been sold.
Cornerstone Communities reports 60 homes, or 65 percent, of the 93 lots at its LakeFront development at master-planned Laguna West in Sacramento have been sold. Three floor plans range from 1,100 to 2,050 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Prices start at $163,990.
