Master-planned 820-acre Calavera Hills in Carlsbad reports 82 homes sold in 1999. The master developers are The Corky McMillin Cos. and Brookfield Homes. Three neighborhoods are currently being sold with a grand opening planned for a fourth.
The top seller was Barrington by Brookfield with 30 sales last year. Barrington has three two-story floor plans from 1,957 to 2,287 square feet with three and four bedrooms. Prices start in the high $200,000s.
Capistrano by McMillin was second with 29 sales in 1999. Capistrano offers a trio of two-story floor plans from 2,726 to 3,190 with three to six bedrooms. Prices start in the mid-$300,000s.
The third neighborhood was Nantucket by McMillin with 24 sales last year. Nantucket offers four one- and two-story floor plans from 2,050 to 2,944 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Prices start in the low $300,000s.
Opening three model homes on Saturday will be Sheffield by Brookfield with three two-story floor plans from 2,597 to 3,323 square feet and four or five bedrooms. Prices are expected to start in the mid-$300,000s. The first phase will be released Jan. 22.
Approximately 1,100 homes have been built at Calavera Hills and planning is under way on the 233-acre second phase for about 700 housing units.
Davidson Communities reports six homes were sold in the first weekend at its Sage Canyon in Encinitas and that the second half of the first phase has been released. Prices range from $473,900. The planned 33 units have floor plans from 2,724 to 3,465 square feet with three to six bedrooms.
Presley Homes reports it has released the final phase of eight homes in The Shores at Torrey Hills in San Diego. The project offers two-story floor plans from 2,444 to 2,765 square feet with four and five bedrooms. Prices range from $442,900 to $470,900.
Centex Homes on Saturday will release seven homes as the first half of the fifth phase of its 146-unit Chaparral neighborhood at Otay Ranch in Chula Vista. Prices will range from $239,990 to $249,990. In 1999, Chaparral reported sales of more than 40 homes since its grand opening in June. Three floor plans range from 1,875 to 2,100 square feet with three bedrooms.
Kaufman and Broad will open for sales on Sunday its 69-home Woodcreek at Eastlake Trails neighborhood in Chula Vista. Prices start in the mid-$200,000s. Three floor plans range from 1,933 to 2,395 square feet with three to five bedrooms.
Shea Homes San Diego on Saturday will release a dozen townhomes as the first half of the second phase of its 169-unit Valencia neighborhood at Rancho Carillo in Carlsbad. Prices will range from the high $100,000s. Five floor plans range from 1,123 to 1,445 square feet with two and three bedrooms.
Trimark Pacific Homes has released the 15-home third phase of The Woodlands at Otay Ranch in Chula Vista. The four- and five-bedroom homes range from 2,119 to 2,601 square feet. Prices start in the upper $200,000s.
The Allen Group's Allen Homes has begun construction of homes in 600-acre The Del Lago master plan community in Tulare. Allen is developing two projects; the 132-lot, 72-acre Tierra Del Sol at Del Lago, and the 82-lot, 30-acre Bonterra at Del Lago. Tierra Del Sol homes will range from 1,332 to 2,022 square feet. The first phase is 42 lots on 15 acres. Bonterra's first phase is 42 lots on 16 acres with homes from 2,292 to 3,582 square feet.
Ryland Homes reports five of a planned 72 homes remain for sale at its Riverglen in the Floral Park section of Santa Ana. Prices range from $393,990 to $417,190. A pair of floor plans range from 3,214 to 3,315 square feet with three to five bedrooms.
Barratt American announced plans for two more single-family neighborhoods in the Temecula Valley totaling 464 homes. Sales are due to begin in the second half. The 100-lot project will offer two-story floor plans from 2,050 to 2,450 square feet with pricing tentatively starting in the $190,000s. Case Group Architects of San Diego will be the designer.
A 364-home project is expected to open in late 2000 with two distinct collections; one starting in the $190,000s and one in the $230,000s. One- and two-story floor plans will range from 2,300 to 3,500 square feet.
Barratt had 41 sales at its 142-home Rembrant neighborhood in Temecula Valley and has launched the 10th phase at prices from $175,990 to $207,990. Four floor plans range from 1,715 to 2,529 square feet.
