Otay Ranch was the county's top-selling new-home community in 1999's last quarter, according to The Meyers Group, a real estate research firm. Since its April grand opening, the 5,300-acre master-planned development has sold more than 400 homes. Home prices currently range from the high $100,000s to the high $300,000s. Builders include Centex Homes, Presley Homes, Shea Homes, Standard Pacific Homes and Trimark Pacific Homes.
DR Horton has acquired 37 new-home lots from Cornerstone Communities, master developer of Encinitas Ranch. Barratt American and Shea Homes have already acquired lots and begun building. Barratt has sales under way at its 41-home Quail Ridge and Shea's 40-home Devonshire is under construction and in pre-sales. DR Horton expects to break ground in April.
Old Coach Realty will hold on Saturday the grand opening of a release of 23 custom home sites at The Heritage Golf Estates in north Poway. The pads range from 22,000 square feet to more than 35,000 square feet. A 3.1-acre site is also available. A dozen homes from 5,800 to 12,000 square feet are already under construction out of 39 home sites sold. Prices range from $650,000 to $1.3 million.
Street of Dreams Inc. has also selected The Heritage Golf Estates as the site of the San Diego 2000 luxury housing event featuring six multimillion dollar residences designed and decorated specifically for the event. The homes will be available in September and October. The builders will be San Diego County companies; AmeriConstruction, MSK Development Group, Oakhurst Builders, McCullough-Ames Development, CrossWate Development, and Tony Garczynski Development.
Reynolds Communities reports its Sun River enclave of 70 homes is more than 85 percent sold out. There are four two-story floor plans from 1,565 to 1,938 square feet with three to five bedrooms priced from the low $200,000s. The three decorated model homes are also up for sale from $229,900 to $268,900
Kennedy Development of California recently released eight homes as the third phase of its 22-home Arbor Hills Estates in Escondido. Single- and two-story floor plans range from 3,000 to 3,500 square feet with four and five bedrooms. Prices start at $389,900.
Brookfield Homes sold eight of the 10 homes released Jan. 15 as the seventh phase of its 118-home Terraza at Scripps Ranch Villages. Prices range from the low $400,000s to the mid-$500,000s, Two-story floor plans range from 2,809 to 3,654 square feet with four and five bedrooms.
McMillin Homes in Temecula on Saturday at Temeku Hills Gold and Country Club will release the first half of phase four at its Northwind neighborhood and the first half of its 12th phase at Sunrise.
Northwind's eight homes are priced from $172,990 to $208,990. Sunrise's eight are priced from $176,990 to $209,990. Northwind has had 43 sales since it opened in May 1998, and Sunrise sold 68 homes in 1999.
Barratt American has sold 28 homes and is in the eighth phase at the 78-home Monterey Collection at Quartz Hill. The new release of eight homes is priced from $236,990 to $274,490.
Ryland Homes reports seven homes sold in a preview sales period and 10 homes sold from its first phase on Jan. 15 and 16 at Hometown, a single-family community in Rancho Cucamonga. A seven-unit second phase has been launched, priced from $292,250 to $339,990.
Barratt American reports 150 sales at its Mirada on the Green in Moreno Valley, with 20 homes remaining. Prices range from $206,990 to $247,990.
Ryland Homes will hold a grand opening of model homes in three separate neighborhoods at The Oasis in Menifee.
