The Fieldstone Group of Companies, based in Newport Beach, said it closed out 1999 by selling more than 600 homes for the year, setting its fourth consecutive sales record.

Keith A. Johnson, CEO of Fieldstone Communities Inc., a homebuilding subsidiary, said a total of 609 homes were sold last year for a sales volume of $158 million. In 1998, the company sold a then-record 549 homes for a total volume of $140.9 million. Fieldstone builds homes in San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles counties and Salt Lake City.

Fieldstone's biggest seller last year with 93 transactions was its Horizons in the South San Diego County community of Sunbow. The homes range up to 2,872 square feet and are priced from the $200,000s.

The Utah region, in its second year, reported sales of 142 homes and $25.5 million in revenues.


McMillin Homes reports the final two neighborhoods at master-planned Scripps Ranch Villages are nearing sellouts. About 2,200 homes have been sold there since the 1,200-acre, master-planned development opened in 1994.

The 10-home eighth and final phase of 154-home Willows priced from the low $400,000s is nearing release, and the last eight units of 110-unit Crown Collection priced from the low $500,000s have been offered. Willows has four two-story floor plans from 2,257 to 2,828 square feet with four and five bedrooms; Crown Collection offers four one- and two-story floor plans from 2,507 to 3,590 square feet with four and five bedrooms.


Davidson Communities on Saturday will hold a grand opening for the three models at its 33-home Sage Canyon development in Encinitas. Three floor plans range from 2,724 to 3,465 square feet with three to six bedrooms. Five homes are currently available from $484,900.


Pardee Homes will hold a preview grand opening at its Morningside in Sabre Springs on Saturday. The neighborhood has three two-story floor plans from 1,788 to 2,216 square feet and three to four bedrooms. Prices start in the low $300,000s.


Centex Homes on Saturday will release the 10-home second phase of its 115-home Lakeview neighborhood in Spring Valley. The release is priced from the upper $200,000s. Three models are under construction for a May opening. The three two-story floor plans range from 2,500 to 2,900 square feet with three to five bedrooms.


Cornerstone Communities on Saturday will launch the fourth phase of its Capri at McMillin Lomas Verdes in Chula Vista's Otay Ranch. The first two phases have sold out and two homes remain in the third. The 117-home development offers three floor plans from 1,030 to 1,670 square feet with two to four bedrooms. Prices start in the mid-$100,000s.


Centex Homes reports sales at its 163-home Silverado at Otay Ranch in Chula Vista have passed the 100 mark, prompting the release of eight homes in the first half of phase eight. Prices range from the low $200,000s. Silverado offers three floor plans from 1,513 to 1,798 square feet with three to five bedrooms.


Cornerstone Communities has purchased a four-acre parcel in Encinitas adjacent to the Encinitas Ranch and will build a mixed-use, 120-unit apartment complex with a 3,000-square-foot retail center. Twenty-two of the Encinitas Garden Apartments will be at affordable rents. Groundbreaking will be in mid-summer and completion is scheduled for mid-2001.


Brookfield Homes release a dozen homes last weekend as the fifth phase of its 140-home Barrington at Calavera Hills in Carlsbad. Two-story floor plans range from 1,957 to 2,287 square feet with three and four bedrooms. Prices from remaining homes from previous phases range from the $270,000s.


Kaufman and Broad has begun preview sales for a pair of its neighborhoods at Sunbow in Chula Vista. Estrella has three two-story floor plans from 1,496 to 1,999 square feet with three and four bedrooms. Prices are expected to start in the low $200,000s. Mar del Sol has floor plans from 2,113 to 2,863 square feet with three and four bedrooms. Prices will begin in the mid-$200,000s.


Barratt American reports that sales at its 61-home Beachwood development in Oceanside have moved past the halfway point, and that the seventh phase is being released. Floor plans range from 2,343 to 2,963 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Prices range from $289,900 to $359,900.
