Real Estate Roundup

Western Pacific Housing of Los Angeles reported closing sales on 1,712 single-family homes in fiscal1999, topping its own projections. The company said the sales represented revenues of $555 million for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2000.

The seven-year-old company is the seventh-largest homebuilder in the state. In this year's first quarter, Western Pacific was ranked sixth in volume in San Diego County, with 110 sales representing 3.99 percent of the market, according to MarketPoint Realty Advisors, a real estate information company. Outside of San Diego, Western Pacific builds in the Los Angeles/Ventura county area, the Inland Empire, Orange County, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Sacramento.

Craig Manchester, president of Western Pacific, attributed the company's success to building homes for the entry-level and move-up markets, and to the homebuilder's Web site, www.westernpacifichousing.com, which has significantly cut transaction time.
