Fieldstone Communities Inc. reported the sale of 518 homes between Jan. 1 and Aug. 31 of this year. For the same period in 1999, the Newport Beach-based home builder sold 410 homes.

On this year's breakdown, 263 homes were sold in Orange County and the Inland Empire, 168 in San Diego County and 87 in Utah.

Frank Foster, president of the company, said Fieldstone is averaging nearly 15 sales a week and plans to open several new neighborhoods over the next six months to bring the total to 20.

In the Orange County/Inland Empire area, the best sellers are the Concord and Barrington neighborhoods in master-planned West Irvine with 58 sales in nine months. Prices range from the mid-$300,000s to the low $400,000s.

In Utah near Salt Lake City, Fieldstone has four neighborhoods for sale. The top seller is Stansbury Park with 33 homes sold beginning at $125,990. A new neighborhood is expected to open this year.

In San Diego County, Fieldstone also has four neighborhoods. The top seller is Horizons at Sunbow in Chula Vista with 63 sales from January through August at prices from $257,990. Over the next six months, San Diego will add three neighborhoods: Cedar Hill in San Marcos, Mission Terrace in Oceanside and Homestead at 4S Ranch next to Rancho Bernardo.

At Monterey Ridge in EastLake Trails in Chula Vista, Fieldstone has released four home sites in the final phase. The neighborhood offered three floor plans from 2,356 to 2,872 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Prices range from $274,990 to $296,990.

This Saturday at nearby Monterey Point in EastLake Trails, Fieldstone will release 10 home sites. Three floor plans are available from 2,564 to 2,952 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Prices start in the $280,000s.

Also on Saturday, Fieldstone will release the fifth phase of its Poinsettia Cove in Carlsbad. Prices start at $419,990. The 117-home community offers four floor plans from 2,033 to 2,629 square feet with three or four bedrooms.


Concordia Homes of California on Saturday and Sunday will hold a grand opening for its 25-home Pacific View Estates community in Carlsbad. Four two-story floor plans range from 2,295 to 3,639 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Prices range from the mid-$400,000s to the high $500,000s.


Shea Homes San Diego on Sunday will hold a grand opening at Sycamore Ridge, its townhome community at EastLake Trails in Chula Vista. The 18 homes released during the presales period have been sold. The 96-unit project offers two two-story floor plans and one single-level plan from 1,039 to 1,368 square feet.


Barratt American on Sunday will hold a grand opening at The Reserve in Rancho Cucamonga. Prices range from $383,359 to $474,014. The 123-unit community offers six one- and two-story floor plans from 2,874 to 3,531 square feet with three to five bedrooms.
