Ground has been broken for the San Diego Gas & Electric Tour d'Elegance, a public tour of four $3 million luxury estates at 1,750-acre Cielo, a new community in Rancho Santa Fe. The tour will be open for five weeks in the summer of 2001.

The developers will be Norm Chrisman of Chrisman Development, Bill Davidson of Davidson Communities, Dave Dacus of Rancho Cielo Estates Ltd. and Bob Pack of Stonefield Development. Bob Weir of Weir Brothers will construct the Rancho Cielo Estates entry.

The Building Industry Association of San Diego has selected Howard Associates to prepare a master landscape plan for the tour. The firm will develop an overall site plan for the child care tent, shuttle paths, fencing, administration area, parking, and the concession, beer garden and event tents.


Brookfield Homes on Saturday will release phase 2A at its Niro and Ravel neighborhoods in Scripps Ranch Villages. The release will consist of 15 homes at Miro and seven at Ravel. Prices are expected to start in the mid-$200,000s at Miro and in the high $300,000s at Ravel.

Miro's 186 planned homes have single- and two-story floor plans from 1,105 to 1,761 square feet with two and three bedrooms. Ravel's planned 77 homes' two-story floor plans range from 1,938 to 2,237 square feet with three to four bedrooms.


Techbilt has three models and six single-level production homes remaining for sale at its gated Bernardo Santa Fe just north of Rancho Bernardo.

Prices for the one- and two-story models range from $495,000 to $595,000 with floor plans from 2,205 to 3,232 square feet and two to four bedrooms.

The final six production homes are priced from $400,000 to $495,000.


Centex Homes will open a sales office and model homes on Saturday at its 63-home Seasons neighborhood in master-planned Sunbow in Chula Vista. The first phase of nine homes will also be released, priced from the $200,000s. Three floor plans range from 2,585 to 2,956 square feet with three to five bedrooms.


Brookfield Homes on Saturday will release the final phase of nine homes at its 140-home Barrington at Calavera Hills in Carlsbad. Prices are expected to start in the low $300,000s. Barrington's two-story floor plans range from 1,957 to 2,287 square feet with three and four bedrooms.


Reynolds Communities has two homes remaining in its 14-home Sun Crest enclave in Alpine. The single-story floor plans are 2,834 square feet with four bedrooms and priced in the low $400,000s.


Barratt American has released the five-home fifth phase of its 46-home Country Glen enclave in south Escondido. Prices range from the $620,000s to the $650,000s. Eighteen homes have been sold in the three months since the grand opening. Three two-level floor plans range from 3,637 to 4,164 square feet with three to six bedrooms.


Brookfield Homes has four homes remaining at its 118-home Terraza in Scripps Ranch Villages in San Diego. The homes are priced from $691,400 to $745,900. Two-story floor plans range from 2,809 to 3,654 square feet with four and five bedrooms.


Concordia Communities LLC reports 10 of 25 homes were sold at the grand opening of its Pacific View Estates in Carlsbad the weekend before Halloween. Four floor plans range from 2,295 to 3,639 square feet with three bedrooms. Prices range from the mid-$400,000s to the high $500,000s.
