After 40 years of building homes, many of which are in the South Bay area of the county, National City-based Corky McMillin is receiving a singular honor. The Chula Vista Elementary School District is naming it newest school, currently under construction in the Otay Ranch area, the Corky McMillin Elementary School.

The school is scheduled to open in the fall and is located in McMillin's master-planned McMillin Lomas Verdes.


Western Pacific Housing on Saturday will open model homes at its 252-unit Antigua condominium at EastLake Greens in Chula Vista. The condo reports 20 units in escrow and an interest list of 400 families for the 130 affordable units priced from the low $100,000s.


Continental Homes San Diego, a division of D.R. Horton Inc., this weekend will hold a grand opening at its 39-home Montevina project in Carlsbad. Prices start in the mid-$200,000s. Floor plans range from 2,650 to 3,912 square feet with three and four bedrooms.


Centex Homes on Saturday is holding a grand opening and the release of the first phase of nine homes of its Summer Walk neighborhood at Sunbow in Chula Vista. The release is priced from the mid-$200,000s. The 102 two-story homes offer 2,211- to 2,498-square-foot floor plans with three or four bedrooms.


Fieldstone Communities Inc. on Saturday will release 10 homes at its 117-home Poinsettia Cove in Carlsbad. Prices start in the mid-$400,000s. The home builder reports that 52 homes have been sold and that each new phase has sold out the weekend it was released. Four floor plans range from 2,033 to 2,629 square feet with three or four bedrooms.


Shea Homes San Diego will release on Sunday a new phase of its 103-home Acacia neighborhood at San Elijo Hills in San Marcos. The one- and two-level floor plans range from 1,664 to 2,186 square feet with three and four bedrooms. Prices start in the high $200,000s.


Centex Homes on Saturday will release 10 homes at its 115-home Lakeview neighborhood in Spring Valley. The 7A phase will be priced from the upper $200,000s to the upper $300,000s. Three two-story floor plans range from 2,500 to 2,900 square feet with three to five bedrooms.


Shea Homes San Diego on Sunday will release phase 3B of its 96-home Sycamore Ridge neighborhood at Eastlake Trails in Chula Vista. Three one- and two-story floor plans range from 1,039 to 1,368 square feet with two and three bedrooms. Prices start in the mid-$100,000s.


Brehm Homes has released 12 homes as the sixth phase of its Brindisi neighborhood at master-planned Aviara in Carlsbad. Prices start in the high $200,000s. Three floor plans range from 1,316 to 2,166 square feet with two and three bedrooms.


ColRich Communities has held a grand opening for its 89-home Torrey Woods Estates in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego. Prices start in the mid-$700,000s. Three two-story floor plans range from 3,810 to 4,327 square feet with three to five bedrooms.


Brehm Homes has released 14 homes as the ninth phase of its Serenata neighborhood at master-planned Aviara in Carlsbad. Prices start in the $500,000s. Four floor plans range from 2,690 to 4,190 square feet with three to five bedrooms.


Ryland Homes reports sales of 183 homes at its 241-home Rancho San Vicente community in Ramona. Single-story floor plans range from 2,011 to 2,455 square feet with three or four bedrooms. Prices start in the $270,000s.


Hallmark Communities reports it has released the 13-home first phase of its 46-home Oakcreek community in Ramona. Five one- and two-story floor plans range from 1,228 to 1,671 square feet with two or three bedrooms. Prices range from $162,000 to $203,000.


William Lyon Homes has opened models at its Los Reyes, the final neighborhood at its Rancho Dorado community in San Marcos. Three floor plans range from 3,576 to 4,088 square feet with four to six bedrooms. Prices range from $420,900 to $478,900.


Hanson Realty's commercial division reported completing more than $26 million in sales transactions in 2000. The Escondido-based five-agent office broke a 44-year sales volume record, according to Paul Van Elderen, president of Hanson Realty.


Pardee Homes reports leasing is under way at its 262-unit Signature Point apartment complex in Del Mar Highlands. Five floor plans are offered with two or three bedrooms.


Brehm Homes has released four homes in the fourth phase of its Montage neighborhood at Vintage Reserve in Temecula Valley. Prices start in the high $200,000s. Floor plans range from 3,511 to 4,281 square feet with six to eight bedrooms.
