Newland Communities of San Diego, a developer of master-planned communities, said it has purchased 325 acres of residential land 27 miles west of Houston and has begun planning for a project called Grayson Lakes that will consist of 524 single-family detached homes.
Prices are expected to range from $175,000 to $350,000 when sales begin in the third quarter. Finished lots will be offered in the second quarter. In the first phase of construction, the developer anticipates opening three neighborhoods with approximately 200 lots and homes.
Newland is currently managing 48 land development projects in nine states across the country.
Brehm Homes has release six homes as the eighth and final phase of its Brindisi townhome neighborhood at master-planned Aviara in Carlsbad. Prices start in the high $200,000s. Three floor plans range from 1,316 to 2,166 square feet with two and three bedrooms.
Cornerstone Communities has released 11 homes in phase 4B at its Montecito in South County's master-planned Lomas Verdes. Prices range from $300,990. Three one- and two-story floor plans range from 2,175 to 3,235 square feet with up to five and six bedrooms.

Ryland Homes reports sales of 40 homes at its 78-home Sycamore Creek neighborhood in Temecula. Prices begin in the $180,000s. Two-level floor plans range from 1,855 to 2,060 square feet with three and four bedrooms.
Brehm Homes has released 12 homes as the fifth phase of its Clairette neighborhood at Vintage Reserve in the Temecula Valley. Prices start in the low $200,000s. Three one- and two-story floor plans range from 1,978 to 2,464 square feet with four and five bedrooms.
