In an effort to upgrade properties along Poway Road, the Poway Redevelopment Agency has contributed to the $2.2 million renovation of the Poway Library Plaza. The Poway Redevelopment Agency has contributed $900,000 in financial assistance and has been instrumental in the project's architectural design and granting approvals through the Poway City Council.
Located at 13132-13172 Poway Road, the 29,000-square-foot retail center is located approximately a quarter-mile west of the Poway Road-Community Road intersection and across from the recently completed Poway Public Library.
Located within the Towne Center Planning designation of Poway, the city is planning additional redevelopment projects in the area. The renovation of Poway Library Plaza includes new exterior facades on all buildings plus a 6,000-square-foot expansion. Tenants include Children's Preschool, Rio Rubicon, San Diego Stereo, Curves for Women, American Signs, Sunshine Hair, Poway Floor, Stars Dance Studio and Carrikathan Dance Studio.
Children's Preschool has operated at Poway Library Plaza for 18 years. The preschool size will be doubled and include a new 7,500-square-foot playground. The new 6,000-square-foot building has been pre-leased by Poway Adult Day Care, a firm specializing in day-care/nursing-assistance for senior citizens during daytime business hours.
Another new tenant is Rio Rubicon Restaurant. It has pre-leased the 4,000-square-foot restaurant pad and will offer barbecue and Tex-Mex cuisine.
Poway Library Plaza LLC, an association of local businessmen, owns the property. The major project service providers are as follows: project/property management provided by Meissner Jacquet Investment Management Services; construction by Davis & Adams Construction; architecture by William Smith & Associates; civil engineering by Partners Engineering and leasing by Business Real Estate.
