City Attorney's office obtains order to close two marijuana dispensaries

Related Special Reports

The City Attorney’s office obtained court orders Wednesday to close two more marijuana dispensaries that were operating in violation of San Diego’s zoning regulations.

Both of the dispensaries were on El Cajon Boulevard less than four miles apart. One of the closed dispensaries was Green Urban Association in North Park and the other was The Bakery Collective, which was located in the College Area.

Both dispensaries were in zones where medical marijuana cooperatives are not permitted by city ordinance.

Superior Court Judge Ronald S. Prager gave the dispensaries’ operators 24 hours to shut them down.

Since 2011, more than 200 unpermitted marijuana dispensaries have been shut down through enforcement action by the City Attorney’s Code Enforcement Unit.
