Local developer named Builder of the Year

The Building Industry Association of San Diego recognized Cornerstone Communities, one of San Diego’s most prolific builders, as the 2014 Builder of the Year. This distinctive award publicly recognizes Cornerstone Communities’ enduring commitment to excellence as a top San Diego homebuilder for more than 20 years.

2014 has been a busy year for Cornerstone Communities. The company broke ground on its latest and much anticipated new master plan of Vista del Sur. This new community will comprise 413 attached homes spread across three distinct villages.

With its thoughtful design and exceptional location, Vista del Sur is sure to be a welcome and celebrated addition to rapidly developing south San Diego County. Cornerstone expects the grand opening of Vista del Sur’s model homes by first quarter 2015. Homebuyers can join the interest list and get more information by visiting CornerstoneCommunities.com or calling 619-482-6834.

Vista del Sur is only part of the story. Cornerstone Communities has four communities under construction totaling 881 units and has an additional eight communities, representing 1,273 units -- approaching $1 billion in revenue -- at various stages of the planning process. With a total of 2,154 units under construction or in planning, Cornerstone Communities is the largest privately held homebuilder based in San Diego.

Looking toward the future, Cornerstone sees the recent elections as a positive sign for the economy and job growth in San Diego. Ure Kretowicz, chairman and CEO of Cornerstone Communities, said he anticipates increasingly strong demand for new housing in San Diego over the next four years and sees the company as being uniquely well-positioned to meet the housing demand and needs of San Diego homebuyers. Look for announcements in the coming year as Cornerstone’s new communities come to fruition.
