ABC San Diego offers wide spectrum of advanced training

Construction professional training is an ongoing process and continues long after an individual completes an initial apprenticeship or craft training program. Training in new techniques, materials, codes and safety is a vital part of being a qualified construction professional.

Skilled craftworkers can advance in their careers at every level through educational programs offered at ABC San Diego. ABC’s journeyman and safety education program offers management training, all safety certifications, and helps craft professionals meet their continuing education requirements.

“ABC is committed to taking our training and education programs to a higher level. We offer programs for everyone who wants to advance in his or her career, from journeymen to foremen, project managers, superintendents and executives, as well,” said Shandon Harbour, ABC San Diego vice president of education and safety. “With a number of engaging leadership programs, ABC meets educational needs at every level of an organization.”

Through partnership with various trades, ABC San Diego is now offering specialty certifications, including backflow prevention, MedGas installer, EPA refrigerant, high-voltage cabling and welding. ABC San Diego will partner with the National Lighting Contractors Association of America to provide the new Acceptance Test Technician Certification for electrical contractors.

ABC San Diego provides numerous high-value seminars at no charge: covering state and federal regulations and updates on issues such as prevailing wage, all of which help assist members to “win work” through training by subject matter experts. Participants learn to be more efficient and effective in their business processes while following all government requirements.

Central to ABC San Diego’s advanced training program is a focus on safety education. To encourage as many professionals as possible to take advantage of ongoing safety education, ABC San Diego has reduced fees for safety training to a flat $99 per safety course. These “Friday Specials” are scheduled at the end of the work week to accommodate training in the professional’s busy schedule.
