Hawthorn Machinery Co. announces purchase of Pacific Machinery Inc.

Hawthorne Machinery Co., the Caterpillar dealer for San Diego County, Mexico's northern Baja peninsula, Tonga and American Samoa, announced the acquisition of Pacific Machinery, Inc, the Caterpillar dealer for Hawaii, for former Trust Territories of the Pacific and Guam last May. Pacific Machinery Inc, a Theo H. Davies company, will become Hawthorne Pacific Corp. and remain headquartered in Waipahu, Oahu, HI. Established in 1925, Pacific Machinery has stores on the islands of Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, Guam and Saipan. Hawthorne Machinery Co. has been a Caterpillar dealer since 1954. Under the direction of Tom Hawthorne, chairman of the board, the company has expanded into the eleventh largest privately owned company in San Diego County.
