Sundt's Construction Inc., has won 2004 Design-Build Excellence Awards for two of its projects in Arizona. The awards are presented annually by the Design-Build Institute of America, to acknowledge the "most outstanding design-build projects in the United States and the world by promoting and recognizing the use and efficacy of design-build as a project delivery method."
The Skyline Widening Project in Tucson, Ariz., won the 2004 Design-Build Excellence Award in the category of "Transportation over $15 million." The project involved the widening and reconstruction of 2.5 miles of roadway for the Pima County Department of Transportation and Flood Control.
The Peoria Public Safety Administration Building in Peoria, Ariz., won the 2004 Design-Build Excellence Award in the category of "Public Sector Building under $15 million." The design-build team of Sundt Construction and SmithGroup completed the 94,000-square-foot, two story building on an accelerated schedule.
