This Spring, USD and the Paralegal Program Alumni Association offered continuing education classes on topics such as Bankruptcy, Probate, Patent Law, Legal Technology and Ethics.*
Plans are underway for a Fall continuing education course in Intellectual Property. This course will cover copyright issues, trademarks and patents. Taught by a local attorney, the class encompasses 30 hours of instruction.

* California Bill 1761 establishes continuing education requirements for paralegals as follows: 1) four hours of ethics every three years; 2) Four hours of "general" or "specialized" law every two years.
