LexisNexis service available to USD paralegal students

LexisNexis is a leading provider of authoritative legal, news, public records and business information; including tax and regulatory publications in online, print or CD-ROM formats.

Legal professionals throughout the United States and the world use this system to research data in preparation for cases.

In an effort to provide students with valuable research skills, the USD Paralegal Program arranges for a Lexis representative to provide a three-hour lecture on use of their services. Students learn how to Shepardize cases, search public records and obtain information for classroom assignments that simulate tasks frequently assigned to working paralegals.

Students are provided a special Lexis password for the duration of their class session, enabling them to access Lexis from their home computers and use the service when it best suits their schedules. An 800 number is provided for contact anytime for assistance.
