Feral

Since passing the California bar, Rosaline Feral has worked in the field of criminal defense.

In the summer of 1988, Feral joined the newly expanded San Diego County Public Defender's Office. During her career with the Public Defender's Office, which lasted until 1994, Feral handled a wide variety of cases, starting with misdemeanors and working her way up to handling murder cases.

In 1994, Feral went to work with the Alternate Public Defender. During her tenure with APD, she handled a wide variety of serious felonies, including being co-counsel on a death penalty case.

In 1998, Feral left APD to open her own private practice. She currently specializes in criminal defense, and handles both state and federal court appointed criminal cases, as well as retained cases.

In 2003, she was selected by the Criminal Defense Bar Association as Attorney of the Year for her tenacious work on a gang related murder case. Despite the fact that her client was facing first degree murder charges, Feral was able to obtain a hung jury, and ultimately settled the case for probation.

Perhaps her biggest achievement in her career, however, was her work on a life top attempted murder case. After the client was convicted at trial with another attorney, Feral was appointed. Not only did she obtain the client a reversal of the guilty verdict and a new trial, but eventually re-tried the case and obtained an outright acquittal.
