Construction completed on office building in Del Mar Heights

Reno Contracting Inc. is finishing Del Mar, a $4.7-million commercial office building owned and developed by The Allen Group, a developer of commercial and industrial real estate.

Located at 11943 El Camino Real in the Carmel Valley/Del Mar Heights neighborhood of San Diego, the two-story, modern craftsman-style building totals 55,364 square feet, including one level of subterranean parking.

Reno is currently putting the finishing touches on the interiors, which include wood paneling at the elevator and main lobby, decorative wall sconces and limestone floors and elevator lobbies. The building also features a striking stone veneer exterior, a standing seam metal roof at the high bay roof and colored sidewalks and flatwork, shower and locker facilities, second-floor balconies and vaulted ceilings. A variety of businesses, including The Allen Group and Fidelity Brokerage Services, will have offices here.

Spearheading the project on behalf of Reno were superintendent Fred Hucke and project manager Eric Gradyan. Subcontractors included California Sheet Metal, Windco, D.A. Whitacre, Brady Co., JSI Door, Paramount Fire and Casper Co.

The architect was Brian Paul and Associates. Engineering consultants included Hope Engineering for structural, Stuart Engineering for civil, McParlane & Associates for mechanical/plumbing and Michael Wall Engineering for electrical. Teshima Design Group was the landscape architect.
