Designer picked for Grand Del Mar resort

Altevers Associates Architecture and Planning has been selected by Manchester Grand Resorts to lead the team for the design and implementation of The Grand Del Mar resort on the 380-acre site of The Grand Golf Club in Carmel Valley.

The resort includes the 261-room Grand Del Mar Hotel & Spa and The Grand Villas, 39 four-bedroom, four-bath luxury residences. Altevers is also designing the 50,000-square-foot golf clubhouse.

The Altevers design team is led by managing principal and chief design architect Robert J. Altevers. Project managers include Anthony E. Tarra (golf clubhouse) and Stephen J. Frasier (hotel, spa and villas). They are joined by Mike Touma, Armando Toscana, Fernando Cavazos and Nelson Silva, who provide project coordination and CAD support.

Other members of the design and engineering team include KPFF Consulting Engineers for structural engineering, and Randall Lamb for electrical engineering and lighting design. Randall Lamb is led by electrical engineer Gary A. Eastley, P.E., principal, LEED AP; and supported by lighting designers Robert Fagnant, Fidel Garcia and Melissa Friedland.
