One of the fastest growing regions in California is climbing aboard one of the nation's best-run and most profitable airlines.
Southwest Airlines, the nation's third largest carrier, has become the official airline of Southwest California Economic Alliance, a regional business and job attraction group that includes the cities of Lake Elsinore, Murrieta and Temecula and Riverside County.
"Our association with one of the nation's leading airlines enables us to let everyone know about our great lifestyle and business opportunities in Southwest California," said Gregory Lee, said manager of business development for the Southwest California Economic Alliance.
Southwest California is strategically located in one of the state's fastest growing regions. It is a short drive from Ontario and San Diego international airports, which are both serviced by Southwest Airlines.
As a part of the partnership, Southwest California will become a featured destination of Southwest Airlines. This provides the opportunity for the region to promote itself as a tourism destination with numerous quality events through its network and a Web site that generates 8 million visitors a month. The airline also reaches 4.5 million people through its email subscription service.
The partnership is about much more than names. It means enhanced resources for continued business growth in a community that is home to some of the leading technology-based firms.
"Together, Southwest Airlines and Southwest California Economic Alliance are providing tools to help develop and grow companies," said Kelly Yang, Southwest Airlines, marketing manager.
Companies that want to better manage employee travel can link onto SWABIZ, a free, online business tool from Southwest Airlines by going directly to www.southwestcalifornia.com. Companies benefit from easy booking, tracking and reporting features available only on SWABIZ.
Southwest California's award-winning Web site includes such tools as a multijurisdictional GIS site location finder, a "commuter computer" that tells residents how much their daily commute is costing them, a jobs database and valuable demographics.
Southwest California enjoys an exceptional quality of life, a mild climate, good air quality, reasonably priced land and building sites adjacent to the Interstate 15 and I-215 corridors, affordable housing at all levels, a highly skilled labor force, quality educational facilities and programs, and cultural, entertainment and recreational activities for every lifestyle.
