According to firm principal Tim Schulze, AIA, PCA recently completed the refurbishments of the one-story, 8,400-square-foot building, which will accommodate the firm's 15 employees.

"This building has ample space to keep pace with our steady growth," he said.

Schulze said his firm has experienced 40 percent growth this year over last -- landing a slew of high profile clients, including Senomyx, Metabasis and San Diego State University. In addition, Pacific Cornerstone is the primary architect for Northrop Grumman, and designed its newly opened four-building, 234,000-square-foot, $22 million San Diego campus.

New offices showcase modern motif

PCA Principal Sean Tracy and Project Architect Dennis Seguban spearheaded the PCA building's new architecture and design, overseeing the renovation of the facade and interiors, including a distinctive new entryway and exterior patio.

According to Tracy, his company's modern design attributes and exquisite environmental design are reflected in the interior's key architectural elements.

"The intricate yet informal professional interiors incorporate open ceilings, plenty of windows to maximize natural light and an open work environment which helps sustain a highly active and productive work environment," he said.

PCA oversaw all of the structure's space planning and design, with electrical engineering provided by Michael Wall Engineering and mechanical engineering by McParlane and Associates. The general contractor was Good & Roberts Inc., with subcontractors including Industrial Commercial Systems, Berg Electric Corp., Howard's Rugs, Sunset Glazing, Contract Interiors and Mission Valley Cabinets.

A full service architectural firm founded in 1994, PCA provides a complete range of architectural, master planning and interiors services. Its staff and principals -- Schulze, Tracy and Kevin Perry, AIA -- are committed to innovative design and top quality construction.

The company has extensive expertise in both residential and commercial architecture, with a focus on the biotech, corporate office, and industrial/manufacturing industries, and currently has projects in the works for clients such as Nexus Properties Inc., Kilroy Realty Corp. and River Run at Santee (Corporate Masterplan).
